Family Fun Bingo @ Royal Caribbean's Quantum of the Seas (Cruise to Nowhere)

As mentioned in my summary post for the cruise to nowhere onboard Royal Caribbean's Quantum of the Seas, I had my first cruise experience with Star Cruise. It wasn't particularly fun although I remember one activity very well; bingo!

The same activity was available on Quantum of the Seas and I made it a point to arrive more than 10 minutes before schedule, given its perceived popularity. And there was already a line waiting to step into the Two70 venue.

It should ring a bell if you have been following my postings for the cruise as the venue played host to the Nadiia Voronkova show, featuring Cast of Starwater that I watched on my first night

Whatever the case, it's time to go back to our family fun bingo! One bingo sheet for each attendee would be handed to us at the entrance; hold on tight to it. You could be one of the winners!

As Two70 was large, with two floors, I was thinking if I had exhibited too much of Singapore's infamous kiasuism as there were still plenty of seats.

Fast forward to ten minutes past the scheduled 10.00 am start time and I was almost going to eat my words. It was almost full house although there were still some seats on level two.

Our host for the day and the game starts! As I am quite bad with accent, I couldn't quite understand when the host was explaining the game play. I was more accustomed to a standard bingo whereby a line that meets all the numbers would mean a win.

Key thing is to check out the lower right of the huge screen filled mainly with numbers from 01 to 75; our first play was to play bingo only on the top / bottom of your bingo sheet! Any other wins; across, left, right etc, would be voided.

Finally, we would be playing all boxes; that should be an easier win right? Nope, I had assumed wrongly as the last game would definitely be way more difficult than the rest.

Known as coverall, you are required to cross out ALL the numbers on your sheet to justify a win! All 24 bloody numbers (middle one is a free space), with a 32% chance of "bingo" that's further reduced if you have a big playing cohort.

With seven outstanding numbers, I knew a win would not be possible!

Winner would get a prize; not a cash reward. For the latter, you may wish to consider visiting Casino Royale on deck 3 of Quantum of the Seas and having a go at the bingo machines.
