EAT. Fishball Mee Pok Dry @ Clarke Quay Central [Singapore]

I first spotted the EAT. outlet in Northpoint (Yishun) and before i knew it, branches started sprouting all over Singapore and the last i counted from the website, there are now over 20 outlets including 4 that operates 24 hours!

Thinking it was just one of many brands that attempted to expand too fast (and eventually fail), i didn't even bother to try it out until my mom's positive review. Hence, we decided to give it a go when we visited Clarke Quay Central last Saturday.

EAT. is actually an acronym for Endear Authentic food with a Traditional taste and is under the management of Fei Siong; the company that gives us delicious fish cakes!

Anyway, mum strongly recommended the fishball mee pok dry set which was S$4.20 with a glass of coffee / tea thrown in. I wasn't disappointed with the fishballs and fish cakes; they had a QQ texture, tasted rich of fish flavour yet with a hardly noticeable fishiness to them.

As promised by the brand name, my taste buds experienced bursts of authenticity coming from fishball noodles of yesteryear. That explains why my mom likes it so much!

Personally, it was a good bowl of noodles without any fancy ingredient that brought back memorable childhood memories; definitely the right place to satisfy the craving when it strikes.

My only complaint - why wasn't i given the thick chunks of pork lard that were featured so prominently in the picture?!?!!?
