Origami Class @ Royal Caribbean's Quantum of the Seas (Cruise to Nowhere)

What would you do when you are stuck at a place for a few days? For me, I will make do with whatever that's available to spend my time and this included signing up for origami class when I took a cruise onboard Royal Caribbean's Quantum of the Seas (Cruise to Nowhere).

As the above indicated, the booking is scheduled but entry would still be subject to capacity; hence, do make it a point to arrive ahead of time. Since the cruise was only half filled, I think I arrived like 15 minutes before the session began at 11.30am.

Location; Music Hall on Deck 3. 

Same deck as the casino. 

I was one of the first few to step into the venue; guess origami wasn't exactly popular but it's been a while since I last partook in the activity and I kind of enjoyed folding papers back then, which I guess was in my secondary school days.

Materials were provided. Two pieces of paper for each person but I was alone; hence, I shall have the advantage of playing with four pieces instead.

Beginning the session! 

Let's start with butterfly! I was expecting something real simple; like a crane or maybe boat but that would be so common right? And this butterfly wasn't even 2D; it's 3D origami! 

The screen would show the step-by-step process on how to get the butterfly but fret not if you are not a arts and craft person; there will be staff around to ensure you are on the right track. 

Not that hard to follow for me! Since young, I am more a hands-on person and in terms of school or work, I do a much better job when I can hands-on via a face-to-face session. This pandemic has made things more difficult for me as I couldn't concentrate as well when trainings were conducted over zoom! 

Here were my two beautiful 3D butterflies! 

Next one; lotus! I admit this wasn't as interesting or as visually appealing as the 3D butterfly although in terms of difficulty level, this was quite a breeze.

And no, it didn't look like a lotus to me. 

Nevertheless, it was a fun session and a walk down memory lane for me. To be honest, I couldn't remember the steps now but there's always youtube right?
