Night markets are renowned for being trendsetters when it comes to snacks. I had been noticing this gold coin cake and finally got to trying it at Hanoi Weekend Night Market last December as there were six of us to share the calories!
Check out the above for the "cooking" process.
Finally got my gold coin cake (35,000 dong, about S$2) after waiting a while since they were made in batches. I was, nonetheless, glad to have mine freshly made instead of getting one that's been out in the open.
Look at how stretchy the cheese was! And this was where the excitement ended. As far as taste is concerned, it was just a normal-tasting pancake with cheese and the only selling point was the visually stretching string of cheese for social media. I am happier digging into a meat skewer.
