Would you go for dental treatment when you are overseas? Actually not that hard a question to answer when dental works are known to be very expensive in Singapore!
As we were roaming along the streets at Da Nang, we chanced upon the above; Chingo Dental. It kind of reminded me that it's been a few years since I last pampered my pearly whites. With an open mind, we stepped in.
The reception so different from the dental clinics we have in Singapore, which would usually be white (sanitized looking). Without the English signage, I would think this could have been a massage parlour. p.s. weird to see an altar in a medical setting.
Woah, tea and towel woah. Surprised to encounter such service, especially when I took into consideration the pricing of my scaling and polishing procedure, only 300,000 dong (about S$16)!
Unlike Singapore, where dental chairs were placed one per room, it's like a mass production right here at Chingo Dental! Again, I am acceptable due to the pricing.
My assigned chair. Now, the receptionists were conversant in English; hence, I assumed it would be the same case with the dentists. Wrong assumption as they were absolutely not comfortable with English.
For those who are unaware, I was a dental assistant for more than two years, as part of Singapore's mandatory national service for all males. And to see the equipment in such shape was appalling! It's alright to have the white turning yellow but stained black?!
Opening my humongous mouth for the treatment. I concluded that it's likely a dental hygienist and not a dentist and for someone accustomed to high vac for a stronger suction; it's not provided here. The dental hygienist wasn't wearing a face shield, and aside from my saliva splashing onto his face; some droplets helped to wash my face too.
