Sky Terrace Penang Hilltop Cafe @ Penang Hill [Malaysia]

I had been to Penang Hill a few times and it was always a rush! This time round, I was adamant to relax, and decided to chill out at the above Sky Terrace Penang Hilltop Cafe, which didn't have a great review score yet I roughly guessed was due to the pricing.

Nevertheless, I just wanted to take a time-lapsed video of the transition from daytime to night, and have a cup of hot tea in the cool hilltop weather. Pricing wise, I figured it wouldn't be as ridiculous as some of the tourist attractions in Singapore.

Check out the view right in front, which had the historical georgetown in the foreground and mainland Malaysia at the back! I would love to be seated at the counter seat but that was reserved for those who engaged the services of drone filming (chargeable).

Shirley Temple - while waiting for my DJI to take the time lapsed video, let us enjoy some drinks and snacks! This was Alex, who enjoyed mocktails, which to me was just full of sweetness and lacked the necessary alcohol kick.

Hot Camomile Tea - I am happy with my pot of Dilmah brand camomile flowers tea. Heartwarming in the cool weather and exceptional soothing with the live band belting out sentimental songs from my teenage years.

Parmesan Truffle Fries - truffle was too weak although I must commend the crisp fries which were served super hot from the deep fryer! Nice as a basic servicing of French fries, definitely not as truffle fries.

Deep Fried Calamari - drizzled with salted duck egg sauce, I would strongly recommend its removal since it had the effect of softening the deep fried batter encasing the calamari within.

Honestly, I didn't have much expectation for the calamari and assumed they would be tasteless and rubbery. Thankfully, they were decent and definitely went well with the chilli sauce!

I wasn't too disappointed with the food at Sky Terrace Penang Hilltop Cafe and should I decide to revisit; I would go for their main courses like burgers and pizzas, and maybe stay till the rising of the moon since the cafe closes at 9pm.
