I am not that adventurous when it comes to eating alone and would usually check out 'nearby' recommendations listed on the trusty hungrygowhere app (iPhone) whenever the lonely situation arises.

100% recommendation with a modest six votes and an overall score of 8.7 was about the best i could get when i was in the vicinity of Lorong Ah Soo last Saturday.
Being a dessert lover means i would definitely be able to squeeze out some space in my stomach, after the main carbohydrate meal, to try the stall's sweet offerings.

It's obvious, while having my main course a few tables away, that there was a constant flow of customers at Soon Huat Cold and Hot Dessert. Customer service must be great as every customer leaves with a smile on their face!

My original intention was to have their peanut ice kacang but eventually decided on this never-heard-before red tea ice jelly. Truth is, Soon Huat ran out of peanuts and the time was only an hour past noon. :(

Tempting is the right word to describe the look of this red tea jelly and you get a taste vaguely like toned down rose syrup that is barely noticeable under the deluge of longan sweetener and condensed milk.

For me, i think this is more a fusion dessert combining ice kacang, ice longan and ice jelly. It might be suitable for some although it didn't really work for me.
