Wafflelicious [Mad about Waffles] @ Upper Thomson Road

That big signboard flashing the word "wafflelicious" is hard to miss while driving along Upper Thomson Road towards the old Thomson Yaohan.

It took some procrastination but the Gang of Four was finally seated in its premises last weekend.

Ordering was simplistic although i question the need for steps as the waffle, gelato and topping are charged individually - as evidenced on the price panel below.

For the benefit of you readers, all the waffles are flavoured with the exception of original and complimentary "dressing" includes maple syrup, cinnamon powder, honey, cocoa powder.

We deliberated for a while as there are too many flavours to choose from but eventually decided on an original flavoured waffle with a scoop of durian gelato and cinnamon flavoured waffle with vanilla gelato.

Dressed in maple syrup, both came piping hot; bringing along with them the irresistible aroma of freshly baked waffles. For Chinese, fragrance (香) is just one of the three components contributing to a perfect dish.

Looks wise (色), i guess i should have no complaint as they looked exactly like the waffle on the signage.

In terms of taste (味), the waffles gave a good crunch despite having a soft interior. However, I have tasted significantly better waffles for original although the cinnamon waffle was unique to my taste buds. In all, they were too dry for my liking and would taste better with additional butter.

I was more impressed with their gelato; vanilla was less sweet without sacrificing the fragrance of vanilla essence whereas the durian was as delicious as having real durian puree.
