Ha Kee Lim Jing Heang 合記林真香 - The Place to Buy Food Souvenirs in Bangkok [Thailand] #foodsouvenirbangkok

In every trip to Bangkok, i will pen in Chinatown as part of my itinerary as there's a particular store that i would visit to stock up on dried pork snacks; one of which would be the crispy Chinese pork sticks known (affectionately yet disgustingly) among Singaporeans as dog shit!

There are many brands but the one my family and friends like would be this particular store that started its business in 1965; Ha Kee Lim Jing Heang 合記林真香. There are four branches in total although i am only acquainted with the above that's located along Yaowarat road, diagonally across Hotel Royal (the former White Orchid Hotel).

Mascot is this pig wearing a suit and doing the customary wai greeting.

Interior of the store; it may not be big but the variety is wide! In case you are unsure if a specific product would taste good, do ask if sampling is provided. The store helpers are friendly and wouldn't bite; so do feel free to open your golden mouth.

Though pork products are their signature offerings, the store does provide non-pork food souvenirs like dried fruits, traditional biscuits, popular items like flavoured seaweed, cuttlefish and even interesting things like baked crocodile meat! For full product list, click here!

My favourite buys - the dog shit and the dried, crispy pork! Chicken version of the dog shit is also available! If you buy a lot of products from the store, you can even request the operator to help you put everything in a cardboard box for ease of checking in! And should you run out of Thai baht, the storekeeper allows you to pay in Singapore dollars and the conversion rate is almost comparable to most money changers in Singapore!
