While taking the longest cable car in the world that stretched for more than 5,700 meters, there would be a few things dying to catch your attention; one of which would be the tracks as above, which bear resemblance to highly beloved (at least for me) roller coasters!
Our guide for the day trip to Ba Na Hills had already informed us that riding on this alpine coaster would not be covered under our admission, but the price for each ride was only about 70,000 dong (about S$3.68).
We decided to go for it! Joining the queue once the guide bought the tickets for us. Do note that the queue can be very long and should time be severely limited (note that Ba Na Hills is huge), my recommendation would be to come back to this last.
Usage information, including health and safety requirements.
Honestly, I was quite surprised to see the above; all riders must have two legs! Hm... how about those with prosthetic legs?
Cameras along the track to capture your smile! Damn, extra way to earn my hard earned money. That explained why the ride cost quite reasonable...
Winding path down. For your information that the ride started 47 meters above ground and there were two coasters, known as Alpine Coasters 1 and 2. We joined the line for Alpine Coaster 2 simply because we weren't aware there were two.
Alpine Coaster 2 started operating in 2018, and had a track length of 694 meters, five years later and 31 meters shorter than Alpine Coaster 1.
Rules and safety guide for reference!
It reminded me of a ride in Singapore.
Operation was similar to the Skyline Luge @ Sentosa, except that the only thing you can control was the speed as the track was fixed! So don't expect the heart in the mouth thrill from roller coaster. Thankfully, I do enjoy the luge.
After a wait of about 25 minutes, it's finally our turn! I shall let Alex go first. p.s. belting up is important!
My turn! Do note that you are actually disallowed from taking photographs but I couldn't resist! I did make sure photographs were taken only when the coasterbob (as the "car" was known) wasn't travelling at high speed and the distance between me and Alex was a comfortable 25 meters away.
It wasn't a long ride; I reached the base in less than three minutes! It was fun and fast, just that compared to Skyline Luge @ Sentosa, there was a lack of competition which can result in much more adrenaline being released!
Now the drag up 47 meters high!
From start to end, my actual track journey along Alpine Coaster 2 was just a mere six minutes long. Was it worth it for 25 minutes? Well, you decide.
Alex purchased the photo!
He can't remember how much.
