Bopiliao Historical Block @ Taipei in Taiwan

My dad and I decided to take a walk after our visit to the famous Lungshan Temple and the block of low-rise, seemingly historical red-brick structures piqued our interest.

Unfortunately, it's closed on Mondays. Anyway, just for information that this area was restored and repurposed into an attraction back in 2009 but many of the buildings had existed for more than 200 years, since the Qing Dynasty.

Those looking for traditional shops might be disappointed as it's more a modern hub for museums, shops, food options, and art exhibitions, although with some focuses on the monga area, the architecture etc.

While collectively known as Bopiliao, the block was bordered by Guangzhou nd Kangding streets with a lane 173 that cut across. The shops were numbered with some information; like for 119 Guangzhou street, it was mentioned that the original tiles and wood were used for its restoration.

Making full use of stabilizing steel foundation to present a brief history and how the renovation / restoration came about. With a review score of 4.2 from over 12,000 reviewers, I am curious as to what it entails!

I found a video which you may find interesting!
And maybe insightful. Click here

Just a few photographs of dad before we left for ximending.
