Once Again @ Buckaroo BBQ & Grill

Alex and I can never get enough of Buckaroo! Whenever we feel like having something 'light' for dinner, Buckaroo always come to picture!

This time round, Vanessa had a sudden bout of generousity to treat us a meal at this ang moh style open-air coffee shop! I should have asked for DB Bistro or some high-class celebrity restaurants in Marina Bay Sands but well, Sembawang is so much nearer to my house.

As usual, we ordered the mushroom soup in a bun!

It's a shame that so much bread has to be thrown away! The bun only matters when mushroom soup is still available! With an empty, hollow cavity, it's just plain, normal bread. Maybe some kaya should be offered on the side.

The next habitual order is of course the deep fried onion rings!

Natural, thick, crunchy and fragrant, why would anyone even hate onions!?! This is for you, Karen! haha.

Granted they were showing an overcooked yellowish-greenish tinge that day, my hands still could not keep them off!! That showed, once again, the high level of love Cavin places on onions!

Lasagne (Beef)
Served in an oval shaped bowl, this was unlike the typical squarish lasagne available in many places.

Presentation aside, i have to give two thumbs up for Buckaroo's rendition of this Italian dish - generous amount of minced beef coupled with sliced mushrooms and cheese that managed to stretch for a distance!

And it's good to find out that tomato paste/sauce was not overly utilised as it had in many eateries!

It's gonna be filling as a complimentary green salad is thrown in with any pasta dish.

American Pork Loin Chop
One of my pet peeves in putting pork products in my mouth is that it should not have a wild porky taste! Marinated pork is fine but i have an extreme resistance to western pork chops.

Frankly, i can only accept the pork chop from Buckaroo - all thanks to my uncle who introduced it to me at least 7-8 years back.

Why is that so, you might ask. Hm... The chops are tenderly soft with a relatively manageable porky taste that seems to be enhanced (in a positive way) by the apple sauce. You may choose an alternate mushroom sauce although i have never liked mushroom sauce on western cuisine.

And i love the crunch of lightly salted baby corns (the greenies served with the chops)!
