Good Morning 早安美芝城 - Taiwanese Breakfast @ Kaohsiung City in Taiwan

For any English speaking community, "good morning" is such a common greeting that the naive me in the past wondered why no breakfast store ever named itself that, until I understood patent law.

But in Taiwan, more a Mandarin speaking community, there is a breakfast store called Good Morning and it was a surprise to read that there's over a thousand branches on the island! Guess I was blind in my past few trips to Taiwan

Whatever the case, it was a chanced visit for both Alex and I. We wanted to check out a popular egg pancake stall but the queue was too long, and I am impatient. So I just did a search on Google, without knowing what to expect. Prepacked sandwiches would be a good start, at least for Alex.

The menu was in Chinese, which I can understand but I am lazy to read. Sometimes, having photographs of food would make it easier for me to order! So, I just focused on items that I have had before for ease of comparison.

Egg Mayonnaise Sandwich - I figured this would be a safe bet for Alex. Now, it's not that difficult to get meals for Alex as he would always welcome fast food restaurants like McDonald's. Not for me though.

Thankfully, this was better than expected; it was so thick of egg mayonnaise that the satisfaction by itself was already unmatched. p.s. the mayonnaise appeared to be a bit sweet, which was of no issue to both of us!

Signature Pork Toast with Egg - while Singapore is renowned for its kaya butter toast, I do enjoy the toast from Taiwan; kind of more like a sandwich instead of our conventional toast in our little red dot.

In another way, you may think of it like a burger but instead of buns, it would be two slices of bread that were lighted toasted, and smeared with a thin layer of mayonnaise.

Great and comfortable breakfast for sure, and the pork meat patty was minced and fatty; the way I honestly like, despite the big "unhealthy" tag! I need to learn how to make this as such Taiwanese breakfast is super expensive in Singapore!

Gone in no time! I only realized later there's a menu similar to the natsumi burgers at Mos Burger! And at just a fraction of cost! Pity I will go all out for more unhealthy food when I am overseas.

Fresh Milk Tea - I was expecting this to be served in a reusable instead of a disposable cup! Anyway, this was fragrant and not as sweet. Guess I was craving more for local Nanyang coffee.

Damn, didn't know there's chilli sauce!
