H'mong 1925 Restaurant and Coffee @ Cat Cat Village in Sapa [Vietnam]

After more than an hour walk at Sapa's Cat Cat Village, where we saw no cats by the way, we decided to give our legs some rest, especially for my 72 years old dad. Just about right, we chanced upon an eatery overlooking a river flanked by traditional houses!

As we had a pretty large group, the alfresco area was sadly unable to accommodate us. Hence, we deferred to the inner area where the view was partially blocked. Nevertheless, it was a much-needed rest and weather was surprisingly good; cooling and no rain, no sun.

Tempting to order the charcoal grilled chicken but I decided to save my tummy space for a fuller meal later; having something to drink would be very much preferred! Snacks would be necessary companions.

Grilled Pork Skewers - while okay tasting, it had a tough texture! p.s. I had sugar cane juice, and forgot to take a photo. It was thirst quenching and didn't taste overly sweet.

Grilled Rice Paper - I always termed this as the Vietnamese pizza and it was yummy! The rice paper base was crispy and it's never wrong on the taste chart to have just diced hotdog, ham and mayonnaise together on the same dish.

Sweet Potato - do you crave for sweet potatoes on a cold down? I do despite the high starch content and I insisted on ordering this even though no one else shared my passion. It felt warm when I held it but it turned out to be cold on the inside, not as sweet as expected, and hard. :(

Photograph time! Frankly, I had to break Cat Cat Village into a few postings as there were about 250 pictures; too many for me to cover in one sitting!

The above was the view in front of the eatery. Trust me, it was a lot more beautiful in real life, and therapeutic for both the body and soul. Maybe it also helped that it didn't feel crowded when we were there.
