Sin Ming Roti Prata Coin Prata Set - Healthier Version without Ghee @ Singapore

Long time ago, Jalan Kayu was the place to visit for roti prata but there's another stretch, albeit much longer, that was well known for the Indian flatbread; Upper Thomson road.

Today, the subject for review was located slightly off Upper Thomson road, within a coffeeshop at a hidden corner of a residential block along Sin Ming Road, and appropriately named as Sin Ming Roti Prata.

Queue was expected to be long on weekends. Helmed by father and son, Aziz and Faisal, the stall bears the accolades of ieatishootipost, a food blogger I actually trust for his reviews! Even though this wasn't my first visit, my main aim was to finally check out its signature coin prata!

After a queue of almost 30 minutes, I finally had the closer look of Aziz and Faisal; I assume. Anyway, I have a problem whenever I had to queue for a substantial amount of time; I would over order to compensate for the wait.

Above was my eventual order that cost S$8.10. Well, it didn't seem much but you have to note that it was just less than an hour ago that my parents and I just had noodles, and it was three bowls for three of us. Sigh, I noticed I have been overeating on weekends these few months.

Kosong and egg pratas.

Star for the day and said to be the prata that everyone comes for; the coin prata. Unlike the kosong and egg pratas, this came in a set of six pieces.

For both the kosong and egg pratas, they were not bad but I would still prefer Casuarina Curry for their eggy egg prata and Chindamani for the kosong crispy prata.

The unique coin pratas would be a must order at Sin Ming Prata. With more surface areas, you get a satisfying bite that featured elevated crispness and thanks to the thickness of the coin prata; there's an irresistible fluffy chewiness to the dough that had a subtle special flavor that stands out from its competitors. Was it because the dough doesn't have ghee or milk in it?

Despite the noodles breakfast we had earlier, we clean sweeped everything! Oh, someone mentioned on Google reviews that the curry gravy was sweet. For me, it was more rich and sour, although still appetising! p.s. to be fair, I am not very particular when it comes to the accompanying curry gravy.
