I know i haven't been kind in my reviews for food that i had in Langkawi although i still stand by what was mentioned so far. Things changed for the better on my last evening in the jewel of kedah; when i decided to try out the desserts at My French Factory.
Located diagonally from Cenang Plaza Beach Hotel and next to Cenang Mall, it offered a wide variety of French crepes and waffles and helmed by a couple from France! Now, guess there would be some authenticity to its French origins then.
It's a small outfit; non-air-conditioned and with super limited seating! I didn't manage to check it out in the first few days, despite its close proximity to Cenang Plaza Beach Hotel, as it was either beyond their operating hours or there were no available seat.
Sweet Crepes with Nutella and Roasted Almonds - i never had much affection for crepes even back in Singapore and this didn't change my opinion. However, i do enjoy the simpleness of this dessert and while it featured no crisp edges (wait, i don't think they are supposed to be crisp), it was aromatic and wasn't overly sweet.
Sweet Waffles with Fresh Strawberries & Homemade Salted Butter Caramel Plus Ice Cream - i had a problem choosing the flavour of the ice cream and got help from the super friendly waitress who gave a strong endorsement for coconut.
Plated beautifully; it felt blasphemous to destroy this aesthetic piece of art in front of me! Alas, the practicality in me wouldn't allow me to waste my good money that way!
Buttery with just a light, thin crisp; i absolutely love this! The batter was of just the right thickness and fluffiness and complemented perfectly with the delicious coconut ice cream and the delightful (and not overly sweet) homemade salted butter caramel! Could you believe this was the best thing i had in my Langkawi trip?
