Second Eagle Feeding for the Trip - This Time at Kilim Geoforest Park in Langkawi [Kedah, Malaysia]

Langkawi has a great affection for eagles!

Apart from the iconic (and huge) eagle sculpture at kuah town, we were brought to two eagle feeding sessions; one was part of the signature Langkawi island hopping tour and the other one was during this mangrove tour!

After gaining some 'experience' from the first session, we treated this more like a bird-watching show except that the birds of prey were wild and had to survive without much interference from humans.

With the backdrop of the karst hill and the fact that we were on a private tour where there's no one else but the four of us (including the guide cum skipper) on the boat; it was relatively peaceful albeit a bit boring for hyperactive me.

Photographs of the eagles; i should have brought along my telephoto lens as i am unable to get a closer shot! Having said that, i would likely still fail miserably on the rocky boat.

Compared to the eagles at Pulau Singa Besar, the ones here at Kilim Geoforest Park kept a distance from humans; so i thought as they didn't come as near as i would have expected them to.

Someone photobombed the picture!

The army of eagles continued circling in the sky as more and more boats slowly streamed in to this particular section of the river. What were they waiting for?

For someone to throw a pail of foul-smelling feed into the river and that's exactly what Alif, our guide cum skipper, did. Gosh, the stench was horrid; like decayed meat!

That's when you see the eagles came swooping down!

More and more eagles flew towards the floating pieces of meat and while i couldn't manage to get a clear shot; it still felt amazing to get slightly closer to them!

I am not crazy over birds; hence, i am unaware of the species. However, i understand from the natasha mangrove tour website that the eagles are either Brahminy Kites Eagle or the White Belly Sea Eagle species.
