Banana Fritters (Goreng Pisang) @ Ayer Rajah Hawker Centre [Singapore] #ayerrajahhawkercentre #friedbananaballs

Born under the Chinese zodiac of monkey, i admit i have an absolute love for bananas since young and while i do enjoy the fruit on its own; i am as infatuated with the cooked versions in banana cakes / ice cream etc. The one i can't resist, however, is banana fritter.

Should i see a stall selling banana fritters after a light meal, there's a 90% chance i would check it out and that's actually the norm in my occasional visits to Ayer Rajah Hawker Centre where the above stall would beckon me!

I only had a bowl of meat ball soup and it's totally justifiable for me to buy some fritters to much on! So much for being on a carbohydrate-restricted diet but hey; this isn't rice or noodles.

The fried banana (obviously the elongated one) that day was lousy and to think i paid for the more expensive variety; it was tart and a total injustice to the crispy batter. I miss the lim kee goreng pisang!

Banana balls were way better. Sweet, moist and juicy in crunchy, bite-sized forms, they were delectable and i was craving for more after i cleaned them up from the bag!
