Like any human, i do have my fair share of comfort food and some came with long-time nostalgia as they hailed from the days when i was a kid / teenager. Today, the item i am talking about came from the above device.
Yes, it's a waffle machine but the ones from Prima Deli always bring back a ton of memories and despite the proliferation of waffles from the many cafes sprouting in Singapore over the years; Prima Deli's waffles still count as one of the rare few i would crave every now and then.
Price list as above; pricing has increased but S$1.50 for a plain waffle isn't that exorbitant although my taste buds are veered towards the one with chocolate spread. My rationale; since i am already eating unhealthy stuff, i might go for something more luxurious!
My waffle was ready; thankfully no queue! As there are many Prima Deli outlets in Singapore, the main reason why i didn't buy most times was because there's often a queue.
To be honest, i like my waffles crispier and it's obvious from the pictures that the one i got was soft and limp looking. Oh well, it still managed to command the unique, mouthwatering aroma of Prima Deli's freshly made waffles that i find irresistible!
Luckily, it was thickly coated with chocolate sauce although i wouldn't like an over-generous spread. Too thin and it's not worth the money i paid for and too thick; the sweetness would likely overwhelm everything. Took a bite; yum, the fluffiness with that hint of pandan!
Introducing the waffle from Prima Deli to Jovyn; and she loves it! Hopefully, this would be one of the comfort foods she look forward to having when she's older.
