It's interesting to note that the name "duck paradise" doesn't mean ducky everything and this is pretty obvious from the main signboard; where only one out of seven featured dishes was essentially duck-based.
Duck rice it shall be even though i couldn't resist ordering a small serving of char siew; impossible to stop when the strings of char siew appeared so enticing behind the glass!
Char Siew - i should have just stick with duck; once the char siew was sliced up, i know for certain this would be the style i dislike. Meaty and dry, this is worlds apart from the amazing ones i have from Roast Paradise!
Duck Rice - this was significantly better than the char siew! The meat was juicy and succulent but the deal maker was the sauce (which usually has the miracle to make / break a plate of duck rice). It wasn't cloying and goes well with the roast duck and plain rice.
However, the roast duck was no match for its competitor; Chuan Kee Boneless Braised Duck Rice that's also within the same hawker centre. Nonetheless, i might still go with Duck Paradise should the queue at Chuan Kee is too long for me!
