Chee Cheong Fun (猪肠粉) @ Broadway Coffee Shop, Yishun

Within an inconspicuous coffee shop located in a not-so-crowded part of Yishun is a stall that sells really nice chee cheong fun (rice noodle roll)!

It was definitely a chanced occurrence 4 years back when i was working in sales.

Hungry then, i ordered a plate of chee cheong fun (which resembles pig intestines; hence the name).

Thinking it was just me, i bought a few take-away packs back to office.

My colleagues loved it!

The low price of S$0.70 per roll (the Singapore version is usually cut into segments) was attractive enough but for such a simplistic dish to be a notch above its competitors, i am impressed!

A perfect combination of rice mixture and process that resulted in a jelly-like texture that was of the right moisture level and the inclusion of the all important oil necessary to keep the white nuggets from sticking to one another.

The process was only half completed when a ladle of black, sweet and savory sauce was poured onto the whitish objects. It's time to pay only when the lady sprinkled a generous serving of fragrant sesame seeds and fried shallots!

Location
Broadway Food Centre
Block 414, Yishun Ring Road
#01-1871, Singapore 760414

Additional Information
The stall has neither name nor stall number to identify itself. Thankfully, the coffee shop is not big and it's the only stall selling chee cheong fun.

Hate chee cheong fun? Or chee cheong fun is not enough for breakfast? Other items are available like yam cake, soon kueh, peanut porridge, buns and ang ku kueh!!

The ang ku kueh was yummilicious with a soft texture and generous filling!

Expect a queue in the morning!
