This was a totally unexpected visit at 9pm on a weekday as we were supposed to catch the Singapore Lantern Festival at Clarke Quay!
As fate had it, Alex was working late and by the time i met him, it was 8.30pm!
My stomach was growling (not surprisingly) and remembering that Megumi has another branch in Sunset Way, it was decided there and then (in Tuas) that we should dine there!
I understand i have been eating too much!!
Hence, i decided not to have my favourite carbo-laden gyu don and instead chose the soup-based sukiyaki and the megumi maki; shared between two persons!
Megumi Maki
Since sushi started to gain popularity in Singapore, i have eaten countless types of sushi from various places.
No where have i had anything as good as this!!! *note, i was really hungry then*
The fusion of typical, common ingredients wrapped with sprinkles of shredded seaweed and topped with a generous fish roe topping is just too delicious!
Sukiyaki
The iron bowl filled with healthy vegetables and the all important soup!
Impatience spiked while i was waiting for the soup to boil!!
Massive anticipation while swallowing my saliva when i swiped this in the boiling broth!
The beast in me was almost ready to destroy my DSLR so that i can stop taking pictures and have this piece of red meat in my mouth!
Ultimately, the yummy soup!
The above two items should have been sufficient for two persons but our dear Alex decided to have ice cream and chawanmushi!
Eventually, i was the ONE who cleaned up the sukiyaki alone!
