Simple Candy Hội An (Near Japanese Bridge) @ Vietnam

For someone who has lived a couple of decades and travelled to a few countries, going overseas can sometimes mean seeing the same kind of things, with subtle differences aligned to the respective country, culture etc, which might not be exactly refreshing.

Hence, the eyes are always seeking for something different and imagine how my eyes lighted up when I chanced upon Simple Candy Hội An in the ancient city of the lanterns!

Everything was so bright, so colorful that I can totally imagine myself going back to the days when I was still a kid, and indulging in candies freely without a care for the world! Time to step in for a closer look.

These were jars of traditional Vietnamese snacks placed right outside the shop! Pity there wasn't any samples as I would have willingly and gladly splurge a bit should the taste be good.

Inside the shop, I was literally mesmerized by the sheer amount of candies, and they appeared to be taken out from a page in fairy tales; like stepping into the candy house in Hansel and Gretel.

Variety for reference! At my age, I am controlling my sugar level and such highly sugared snacks are especially frowned upon! Can't help feeling envious of kids and teenagers with their high metabolism that would have neutralized the sugar!

Chocolates were available too; Hersheys Kisses in eight flavors!
Have you tried their cherry cordial before? I haven't!

Display of edibles but not necessarily sweets! I think they were figurines made from glutinous rice flour; known as Tò he, it's known as to one of Vietnam's cultural heritage. My question: can eat them?

Candles with aromas of candies! Definitely a gift that would make a teenage girl happy; so I happily bought one for my niece, who loved it (I think).

What's one thing for improvement at Simple Candy Hội An? Please do something about the cement screed flooring! The whole shop was pretty and the grey flooring was a strong, ugly contrast!

Photograph with my mom!

Last photograph; most interesting was this diorama of Hoi An in the past (bottom). Look closer and you may just find yourself imagining a day in ancient Hoi An.
