The Claw

The Claw
Popularised by the movie Toy Story, these two words can be substituted with another term some Singaporeans used; Kiap Kiap!

Kiap Kiap has been around for a long time with waning popularity but in the recent two or three years, these arcade structures have again sprouted like uncontrollable mushrooms!

It's not surprising to see a prime spot in a shopping centre taken up with only kiap kiap machines (the correct yet boring term for these machines is merchandiser).

The prizes have become much more attractive when i can see HUGE toys and even expensive items up for grabs! And they are not the boring, unknown type. It's common to see Hello Kitty, Stitch, Doraemon, iPhone, PSP etc!

What's uncommon and interesting is the one above.

Who will actually pay to grab these perishable ice creams at a risk of not having any at all, when you can easily buy one in the 7-11 store a few floors down?
