After scrapping my car about three years ago, the inconvenience has deterred me from visiting the many hawker centres all over Singapore that i like; one of which is ABC Brickworks Market and Food Centre.
I paid a visit yesterday and made a beeline for the stall that has been on my mind for quite a while! The food in question? The power chendol that i labelled as epic when i first tried it 8 years ago!
One glance and i did notice a difference from the power chendols i used to have a few years ago; there didn't seem to be as much gula melaka which i consider to be the most important ingredient for any chendol.
Taste wise, the thick and gooey gula melaka continued to impress although i wouldn't have minded more of it. As a whole package though, i think extra attention can be given to the red beans and green worms (latter of which is called chendol); they could have been bigger and better tasting, especially the green worms that appeared artificially with its bright, luminous greenness.
Well, didn't stop me from cleaning the bowl.
I had been so deprived!
