Mitsui Outlet Park Taichung Port @ Taiwan

I still recall my first time at a Mitsui Outlet Park, at Sapporo, and told myself I would look forward to my next one! And as luck had its way, I found a Mitsui Outlet Park at Taichung City and since we were self-driving; we thought we should pay it a visit.

Before exploring, let's have brunch first!
Food court would be good choice, given the variety.

It's advantageous to have our meal earlier too since there weren't that many people. If there's one thing I dislike more and more as I get older; it's the need to queue up and waste precious time.

Choosing Kaidon for its display of mouth watering Japanese dishes on the menu and a queue that also happened to be the longest despite the non-peak timing. A check on Google Maps also revealed a high scoring of over 4.5!

Anticipating the wait.

My Soy Glazed Chicken Teppanyaki + Grilled Beef Donburi which cost NT$349; only about S$14.00; honestly very reasonable given the generous meat servings!

Chicken was alright tasting with the sweet iconic teriyaki marinade but without the crisp skin texture I personally prefer. Beef was tough yet I had to admit that they were delicious with an intense smokiness as a result of hot grilling!

A highlight of Mitsui Outlet Park Taichung Port would be the "only seaside Ferris wheel in Taiwan, standing at 60 meters high"! Maybe due to the strong wind, the wheel didn't seem to be in operation when we visited in 2025.

Let's kick start the shopping! Sadly, as it was still winter season, the items on discount / sale didn't quite appeal to us tropic dwellers. And I think at the back of our minds, we were also worried we might not have enough luggage space for more shopping since I have yet to purchase souvenirs for family and friends.

There's an eslite bookstore at Mitsui Outlet Park and I thought of just going in to glance at items that are beyond the usual clothings and shoes.

I came out with one piggy bank instead!
Oh well, a Taiwanese pig to add to my collection.

While I have been to quite a few outlet stores, I was most surprised when I checked out the above Dogday! As the name suggests, it's a pet store that sells snacks and clothings for dogs! Thankfully, I no longer have a pet for me to splurge my hard earned money on!

Mitsui Outlet Park Taichung Port overlooked Taiwan's second largest port, which didn't seem very busy in my opinion. Of course, I am comparing to Singapore port, which is one of the world's busiest ports.

Basic info of Mitsui Outlet Park Taichung Port; completed in 2018, with an expansion in 2021, it hosted a total of 170 shops and restaurants. Frankly, the weather did make it quite nice to shop, as compared to outlets like Johor Premium Outlets.

Much busier at the food court at close to 2pm.
So glad we managed to get our stomachs filled up earlier.

A dog, in place of a horse.
