The day was winding down and the day tourists had since left the railway town; resulting in a surprising calm peacefulness that made both Alex and I slowed down our pace, especially with the beautiful splashes across the sun-setting sky.
Bustle in the day with hundreds of people at Fenqihu Train Station had now trickled to maybe two dozens. Maybe also because the weather was cooling, and shops were also in the midst of pulling down their shuttle; we decided to stay put a the station.
Last train had left and even the station was closed. Some railway aficionados might consider trekking down the railway tracks but not for us; one, we were too lazy. And two, god knows what you bump into at the surrounding forests when night comes. Many paranormal stories on forest spirits in Taiwan!
Opposite view, where the hill seemed to be part of the railway route although the tracks veered to the left, avoiding a tunnel that would have been expensive to build in the pre-world war 2 era.
Alex agreeing to be the model, partly because of the relaxed atmosphere. And I am fully aware of his love for trees, and his preference for an unhurried pace when overseas. So, I must grab the opportunity!
But he had already switched off!
I did the same and it was indeed medicine for the brain and soul. Coming from a person who finds it hard to relax while doing nothing; I managed to just stare at the sky with the slow moving clouds for more than ten minutes! Shiok!
Okay, enough relaxation.
My butt needed to move again.
