KFry Urban Korean Fried Chicken - No Pork, No Lard, No Alcohol @ Holiday Villa Johor Bahru City Centre [Malaysia] #kfrymy

My craving was for You Kee crystal char siew at KSL mall but by the time i got to Holiday Villa hotel for my birthday staycation, it was close to 10 pm and the eatery had already closed for the day.

Wandering aimlessly and not knowing what to have for a much needed dinner, we heard peals of laughter and chattering coming from beyond the staircase.

Out of curiosity, we stepped in for a better look and the entire place was packed with customers! Typical of any Singaporean, it's a given that to command such a crowd at such a late timing, food must be of a certain standard!

As the place was full, we waited for about ten minutes for a table. The time spent on waiting could be better used playing around with the props provided but again, not exactly my cup of tea. Haha.

Brought to a window seat and with an ongoing drizzle outside the Korean-pop themed restaurant, i did feel like i had mysteriously teleported to Seoul, until i see the signboards along the road.

Ordering time - honestly, i would love to have every type of chicken wings! However, there were only two of us and with Alex being such a small eater, i had to be mindful not to over-order.

Mango Rita - the picture on the menu appealed to us and since it's a non-alcoholic beverage using lemon Barbican soda, we figured it would not do much harm to weak drinkers like us. p.s. the bingsoo we wanted was unfortunately already sold out. :(

Alex had the Strawberry Rita and in comparison between the two, the mango one was so much nicer; refreshing and not overly sweet with a tinge of sourness! It's actually a lot for one person and i would strongly suggest sharing if you happen to be there.

Jap Chae - you would seldom go wrong with the Korean style stir fried glass noodles and this didn't disappoint with the signature savoury sweetness that i have always enjoyed! Add in my favourite mushrooms, chives and onions and it's an appetising dish i couldn't resist.

Garlic Soya Wings - crunchy with a strong garlic infusion, i admit they are worthy of the thumbs-up logo on the menu. With 4 winglets and 4 drumlets, don't forget to snack on the delicious garlic bits that garnished the deep fried chicken!
