Edith Patisserie Cafe @ Serangoon Gardens (myVillage) in Singapore

My intended cafe to chill for the rest of the afternoon was Plain Vanilla but there wasn't an available table! As we didn't want to wait, we hopped over to myVillage and chanced upon Edith Patisserie

Featuring a good variety of cakes, it had air-conditioning, with available tables, and even commanded a higher review score than Plain Vanilla at 4.6 (vs 4.4) from a higher number of reviewers (133 vs 124). So, down our butts to hit the seats!

In just a few minutes, the slices of mouthwateringly cakes were served to our table; one for each of us yet the main objective was to share so that we can have a myriad of taste experience. Let's proceed with the reviews:

Yuzu Osmanthus Cake - for someone who loves osmanthus jelly cake, this was an order I can't resist and I can just so imagine the zestiness from the yuzu that gelled perfectly with the flowery aroma. While it bore subtle hints of osmanthus fragrance, the yuzu overtook as the main, instead of a co-star.

Lychee Rose Cake - another floral cake although from the visual of the dried rose petals, I am guessing this will not be as perfumey as expected.

And I was right; just a faint rosey flavour and there were surprising bites of lychee meat hidden in between each layer of the sponge cake! Talking about the sponge cake, they were thick, moist and while a bit too dense for my liking; each bite was just so satisfying!

Taro Mochi Cake - again, as a yam lover, I knew I had to get this and maybe compared with the unforgettably good pure yam cake from Tea Room by Afters Pastry

First bite; the best out of the three with that unmistakably earthly, beloved flavour that didn't taste artificial, and even the mochi was soft without that irritating stick-to-the-teeth texture. But, the taro cream did get overly cloying towards the end.

p.s. buy three slices of cakes and you get a free healthy cup of matcha latte (milky, not sweet)! Do note that this was a promotion that ended on 31 May 2026

Mini Lemon Loaf - personally, I am more a cream cake person and this kind of lemon loaf would usually be the last thing on my mind in a cafe. However, a friend loves lemon loaf, and to be totally honest, I am glad she opted for it!

Even though dense, every bite was a satisfying flavour bomb and it was well balanced with the sugary icing on top! Compared to the heavier buttercream cakes, this was definitely more comfortable and refreshing for my taste buds!
