Cafe Du Soleil near the Summit of Fansipan @ Sapa in Vietnam

What would you crave for on top of a windy mountain known as the Roof of Indochina, with a temperature hovering around zero degree celcius?

I was craving for some warmth and once I noticed a building after stepping down from the 3,143 meters summit of Fansipan; I told my family members we needed to get our cold ass in!

Cafe Du Soleil; such a French name.
Yet unsurprisingly since Vietnam was formerly a French colony.

Entrance on the mezzanine level; one floor down was full so we climbed up to the second level instead. p.s. forget about the mountain view as the mountain was surrounded by a thick mist. We wouldn't know even if an airplane were to fly towards us, until maybe the mere seconds before it were to hit us.

Comfort expression on the faces of my family!

Croissant and Danish Raisin - just focus on the pastries on the plate in the middle as I didn't take enough photographs! Anyway, this would give you better perspective on the size of both the croissant and danish raisin.

To be fair, both were nice and buttery (more so for the croissant, which was flaky) and they were both substantial (thankfully, we shard); it would have been even more unforgettable if both were toasted instead of just being warm. p.s. love the burst of sweetness from raisins in the danish!

Opera Cake - this tasted so much like the chocolate cake from Balmoral Bakery at Sunset Way, but better for being much larger, resulting in greater satisfaction!

Hot Chocolate - the heart felt so warm with the hot, creamy beverage streaming down my throat. While it was a relief from the cold, I did think that it could have been richer. Whatever, I am still happy to have it.

Leaving after the body was sufficiently warmed up!
Time to wrap up like a dumpling again!
