Having a Golden Phoenix Durian at Melaka near Hatten Hotel [Malaysia]

A high percentage of durians sold in Singapore came from our closest neighbor, Malaysia, and it's a no-brainer for us to crave for the king of fruits when i was in Melaka recently for a short stay; especially when the UNESCO city is only 34 kilometers from a Tangkat, a town known for its durians!

As my travel mate couldn't ingest too much durian and i am trying my best to reduce my sugar intake before my trip to Langkawi the following week; we exercised our conservative judgment for a small fruit under the Golden Phoenix species.

Each kilogram was priced at RM 28 which was only about S$9 and this particular one weighed just about 700 grams! Yes, we paid like S$6 for the above which is a price you could hardly find in Singapore for Golden Phoenix!

It was creamy, pungent and so addictive! The seller guaranteed we would never be satisfied with one and he was almost right as we were so tempted to get another one or two more!

As expected of the Golden Phoenix species, each seed was small and i absolutely love popping in a whole seed for a darn satisfying moment. Shiok ah!

Those travelling to Melaka can consider the above stall if you are staying at or near Hatten Hotel / Hotel Equatorial MelakaEstadia Hotel etc. It doesn't seem to have a name but if it helps, i am appending the location in the google map below. It's also near the famous Restoran Nyonya Makko 麦哥.
