Traders Hotel - Direct View of KLCC @ Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia

I am finally working on this review of Traders Hotel in Kuala Lumpur; my choice of stay in April 2024 for a very simple reason. Its claim to the best view of the world's tallest twin towers, the stunningly gorgeous Petronas Twin Towers, also known as KLCC!

This was taken right in front of Suria KLCC, the shopping mall connecting the two towers on the ground floor, and you should be able to see that Traders Hotel rightly positioned at a distance for that fantastic view I have shown at the start of this post.

Ground floor - where there was only a concierge counter.
To check in, please proceed to the 1st floor.

Empty reception floor as timing was 3.26 am! You read it right; my coach ride from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur was delayed by more than two hours. Needless to say, I was exhausted since I am the type who needs a bed to have a restful sleep.

Our sustainable, wooden key cards to our room on the 28th floor! Do note that I didn't opt for the room with a full view of the Petronas Twin Towers as it's more expensive! Did I regret that decision? Somewhat!

Room
Traders Club Room - 2816. p.s. I actually booked a deluxe room but I guess we were upgraded. Although both room types occupied a 32-square-meter space, the club room had a 55-inch Smart IPTV, a day bed and other features, which I would share shortly.

One of them was the provision of USB-C and USB-A charging ports; essentials in the current technological era we are in! Despite that, there were also numerous 3-pin sockets; on both sides of the bed and near the writing desk.

The Club Room was also equipped with Nespresso Machine with coffee capsules; a pity I don't really enjoy this privilege as I prefer local Singapore / Malaysia coffee. By the way, the hotel provided only glass bottled water, which was heavier to bring out!

Wardrobe with the in-house safe, iron and ironing board, comfortable bathrobes and slippers. Nowadays, I would bring home the slippers as my sister uses them at her home. I always find that strange; why can't we be barefooted since Asians generally disallow shoes IN the house.

Our mini-fridge, electric kettle etc. p.s. the Chips More cookies were purchased by Alex. The hair dryer wasn't placed in the toilet; you would find it in a drawer near the mini fridge.

Reason why I mentioned my somewhat regret for not paying more for the twin-tower view. The above was the view outside my room; I absolutely didn't expect so many buildings to block what I assumed to be a panoramic city view. My bad.

The day bed was just for decoration I guess, when the curtains were drawn open. It didn't help that I clumsily knocked my shin against the side table on my first day, which resulted in a pretty bad bruise that took weeks to recover.

Now the bathroom; separate bathtub and shower areas that we prefer now that we are older. I find it utterly dangerous when the shower is in the bathtub; high risk of slip and fall, even with the non-slip mat that's provided in some hotels.

So-called premium Traders toiletries.

Disappointed with the showerhead as it's so normal nowadays to have rainfall shower! In addition, I can't even adjust the showerhead. Hm... or maybe I didn't use more strength?

Gymnasium
Known as Health Club, it was nicely equipped with the necessary gym equipment to you a good, sweaty workout. I did find the gym to be quite narrow though and it felt squeezy when there were more gym users.

An aerobic studio within the health club.

What's most amazing was the postcard-perfect view in front, with a full view of Petronas Twin Towers right in front of us, and the KLCC park right below us! Anyone knows what's being built next to the twin towers? Looks like a big project!

Do you know that the observatory on the 86th floor and the skybridge on the 41st floor, connecting both towers, is open to the public? Pricing for foreign adults is RM 98.00.

Swimming Pool / Sky Bar
Located on the top floor of Traders Hotel would be the indoor swimming pool which might appear to be outdoor given the skylight ceiling that brought in all the sunlight!

The window seats were highly sought but I would encourage everyone to come after 7pm, when the pool would be closed and converted into Sky Bar!

I had to purchase beer and snacks and fully soaked in the night view of Petronas Twin Towers. Frankly, the twin 451.9 metres super skyscrapers are most beautiful at night.

Time-lapsed video of the towers for your viewing pleasure! The sky bar is also the perfect place to catch the Symphony Lake Water Show for non-hotel residents. Or for those like me who were too stingy to pay for twin-tower view.

Drink menu as above for your reference too.

Miscellaneous
There was a cafe right outside the hotel, and at the border of KLCC Park. As we didn't opt for breakfast, Alex was a frequent patron for his morning latte.

The hotel also had a free buggy service to bring you to Suria KLCC Shopping Mall. We didn't utilize this service as we prefer to walk and clock out daily steps.

Jokes aside, the main reason why we didn't quite use the buggy service was that Traders Hotel was well-connected to KLCC Convention Centre, where there's a underground passage that leads to Suria KLCC Shopping Mall.

In case you are unaware, there's also a sheltered pedestrian bridge from Pavilion Kuala Lumpur that would bring you all the way to KLCC Convention Centre. Convenient it was, just that Alex wasn't much of a walker compared to me.
