Birth Order and its Impact on YOUR Personality

This is an interesting piece of information i grabbed from one of the many Facebook feeds for sharing.

I am a middle child and despite hearing so much of the middle child syndrome, my situation is slightly more unique as i also happen to be the only son in a Chinese family. Nevertheless, just a few paragraphs for your reading pleasure.

Oldest Child
The oldest(s) child are rarely bad. They come off as bossy because they created a sense of responsibility at a very young age. They are usually the bossiest in the family but they are also people pleasers. Children in the eldest position tend to marry or stay in a relationship for a long period of time. They are perfectionists and put themselves under a lot of pressure at time.

=> My elder sister is an example although she wasn't really bossy to begin with; she has violent tendencies though!

Youngest Child
They often behave as if they are the only child and expect others to do things and make decisions for them. At times, they feel that they are the weakest / smallest of the family. They are very tricky and know how to manipulate people into doing things for them. The youngest child are fun and well liked by others and are usually really good at examining and studying people. In a group, they are the loudest and love to seek attention. If you are dating a person of such birth order, the worst thing you can do is tell them what to do. They have low expectations in a relationship, are innovative and usually have the best sense of humor. However, they are usually undisciplined, self centered and have a high ego.

=> My younger sister (for those who are in shock, she is indeed the youngest child in my family) is not loud, is not self centered and she must be one of the most disciplined person i have ever known; her gym regime has always been pretty consistent unlike many of us.

Middle Child
This child never had rights of an older and younger child; they often feel as if life is unfair. The good things are that they are highly adaptive, willing to do things differently and can compromise better than others. Besides being good at keeping promises and able to get along really well with people, they are independent and usually don't rely on others. A peacemaker yet a rebel in a group. Likely a stubborn cow which dislikes computation. Asking for help is something they don't enjoy; they either feel too embarrassed or rather learn for themselves. Lastly, they don't like to share their feelings!

=> I am a classic example and i thought the above sum up my personality pretty comprehensively except for thing; i totally love numbers!

p.s. as i have always said, humans are too complicated and there's really nowhere you can find any analysing tools or tests that can 100% predict your personality. Therefore, read everything with a pinch of salt yet with an open minded heart. :)

Best Day to Start Work in The Dragon Year - Zodiac Sign

Most Chinese are superstitious and even if something has no scientific basis, we have to give it the benefit of doubt - the phrase "just in case" is always a valid excuse.

This table has been circulated via email for the past few weeks and from what i understand, there are people who stay faithful to its recommendation on when to start work in order to have a fantastic year.

For example, today is a public holiday (being the first day of the Dragon Lunar Year) but some office personnel purposely went back office to switch on the computer and reply a few emails to justify their start of work!

In their mind, there is no harm in doing so.

Speaking of which, it is already Tuesday (24 January 2012); tagged as "Good" for those under the zodiac sign of Monkey. Let me log on to my mailbox.

I am working from home.

Office Dares - I DARE YOU!

My brain is really too dead to think about anything constructive! By chance, I saw this email that i am going to regurgitate and share with all of you!

The following test will determine how brave and daring you are! Total points = 105. The nearer you are to 105 points, the more fearless you are deemed to be.

Be unique, be different and break away from your routine work! Try the following dares tomorrow and give yourself a tick (plus a pat on your back) everytime you complete one of the following:

One-Point Dares
1. Ignore the first five persons who say 'good morning' to you.
2. To signal the end of a conversation, clamp your hands over your ears and grimace.
3. Leave your fly open for one hour. If anyone points it out, say, "Sorry, I really prefer it this way".
4. Walk sideways to the photocopier.
5. While riding in an elevator, gasp dramatically every time the doors open.
6. When in elevator with one other person, tap them on the shoulder and pretend it wasn't you.
7. Finish all your sentences with "In accordance with the prophecy..."
8. Interrupt your conversation with someone by giving a huge dejected sigh.
9. Use your highlighter pen on the computer screen.

Three-Points Dares
1. Say to your boss, "I like your style", wink, and shoot him with double-barrelled fingers.
2. Kneel in front of the water cooler and drink directly from the nozzle.
3. Shout random numbers while someone is counting.
4. Every time you get an email, shout ''email''.
5. Put decaf in the coffee maker for 3 weeks. Once everyone has got over his or her caffeine addictions, switch to espresso.
6. Introduce yourself to a new colleague as "the office bicycle". Then wink and pout.
7. Call I.T. helpdesk and tell them that you can't seem to access any p*rnography web sites.

Five-Points Dares
1. At the end of a meeting, suggest that, for once, it would be nice to conclude with the singing of the national anthem (extra 5 points if you actually launch into it yourself).
2. Walk into a very busy person's office and while they watch you with growing irritation, turn the light switch on/off 10 times.
3. For an hour, refer to everyone you speak to as "Dave".
4. Announce to everyone in a meeting that you "really have to go do a number two".
5. When you've picked up a call, before speaking finish off some fake conversation with the words, ''she can abort it for all I care''.
6. After every sentence, say 'Mon' in a really bad Jamaican accent. As in: "The report's on your desk, Mon." Keep this up for one hour.
7. In a meeting or crowded situation, slap your forehead repeatedly and mutter, "Shut up, damn it, all of you just shut up!"
8. At lunchtime, get down on your knees and announce, "As God is my witness, I'll never go hungry again!"
9. Repeat the following conversation 10 times to the same person: "Do you hear that?" "What?" "Never mind, it's gone now."
10. Present meeting attendees with a cup of coffee and biscuit; smash each biscuit with your fist.
11. During the course of a meeting, slowly edge your chair towards the door.
12. As often as possible, skip rather than walk.
13. Ask people what sex they are. Laugh hysterically after they answer.
14. Dry hump the photocopier. When someone spots you, stop and cough embarrassingly, then lean in to the machine and whisper loudly, "I'll see you tonight".

One week to perform the above dares.
Keep a record and add up the points at the end of the 7 days.

One Very Important Point (OVIP):
Would You Dare?

Color Checking - What Colour Animals Are You?

I love personality tests! Besides the fact that they are usually quite interesting, most of them (facebook sucks in those tests) allow you to measure yourself against the results, regardless how true it really uis.

The above mentioned link (click the heading.... =_=!!!) was sent to me by one of my colleagues and it was the first time animals were being used! Not just any animal but one with different colors. Heard of pink panther, black panther? what about blue one? green one?

My analysis as follows:

A zoomed in translation!
  • Brown panthers personality is very cheerful, and free from care (true).
  • Such character attracts people and helps to build up network of connections (what do you think?).
  • Brown Panthers have very pure heart, and dislike anything crooked (i have always know im pure hearted and angelic).
  • You devote to others full heartedly and faithfully (i agree).
  • You are very independent and at the same time a hard worker (i believe im).
  • Because of this personality, other people naturally see you as a leader (eh... i have my doubts on this).
  • Money wise, and in personal relations, you have good fortunes (relationship i think im, but money.... i need more).
  • You are weak in sales and bargaining (sniff... tats why i quit my previous job..).
  • You tend to lack to see insight, but smartness is Brown Panthers belief, so you can negotiate in your own pace, and can lead the others to come along (eh....).
  • You are strong willed person with pride, and do not like to loose (im. period).
  • You get interested in many things and tend to challenge new things (tats why i get bored so easily!).
  • But you lack the last step forward, and therefore need more modest effort making (i do?).
  • You have a personality of a daydreamer (i love to enjoy life).
  • When this fantasy leads to real project, it can end up in development of extremely unique item that may sell millions (really?).
  • You are suited to idea creating occupations such as in advertisement (well... i enjoy microsoft publisher).
  • However, you are not too good at balancing out the money and the work, so you need to be careful on that (i eat a lot and i know where the money goes to).
I think it is 85% true!! But im gonna have my reservations on the development of an extremely unique product that will bring in millions!

Go and determine for yourself!
