Sơn Trà Marina - With Santorini Vibes @ Da Nang in Vietnam

I chanced upon Sơn Trà Marina while researching for my trip to Da Nang last year and although I am not much into cafes with cliche setting; it's along the way to and from the famous Linh Ứng Pagoda and we decided a stopover would be fine.

Remember to order your food and beverage, and pay first there's no admission tickets per se, but it's not a free for all. Do note that there is no air-conditioning and if heat is an issue for you, please visit during the cooler months or opt for evening timing.

My visit was at about 4pm, and the sun was slowly setting down to the horizon. Even then, I still found the weather to be a little too warm for my liking.

Obedient Singaporeans would follow the rules.
Let's make our order first before exploring the rest of the area.

Let's settle Alex first; compared to me, he is even less keen in exploring cafes, preferring to chill at just an area where he can watch his YouTube videos and play his online games.

Now the pictures for your viewing pleasure. I have never been to Santorini in Greece, even though the photographs of clean white walls with contrasting Santorini blue (yes, that's a color name) domes, roofs, handrails, doors, windows can't be forgotten anytime.

Those who have been to Santorini, did the above photographs bring you back down memory lane? I am not so much into such instagram spots, especially replicas since as the name suggests, you can do it anywhere you want, so long you have the financial capability to do so.

I was more in awe of the view ahead of us. The many boats that dotted the marina, proudly displaying the Vietnam flag, with the many buildings along the popular beach at a far distance. It was a bit hazy though.

Time to relax and enjoy the food and drinks we ordered!

Blue Marina - Alex's order for a mocktail. While it was suitable with the Santorini feel, I am not a lover of mocktails, given the unusually high level of sugar content!

Strawberry White Peach Tea - I opted for something healthier, or so I believe. Turned out to be too sweet for my liking and it was more like concentrated strawberry syrup than tea.

Crispy Calamari - beacon of hope comes in the form of this common bar snack! At slightly more than ten Singapore dollars, the pricing was quite reasonable for the portion, which also included a wasabi mayonnaise dip.

Fried to a crisp, each piece of calamari had a firm texture with a strong sotong flavor, latter of which was lacking with fried calamaris found in many places. And I love the wasabi mayonnaise mayo! So, so yummy that I almost ordered a second serving.

Strawberry Mousse Cake - I expected something better and different, as this looked like something that came out from the local bakeries in Singapore! Taste wise, similar too, and too creamy for me.
