This is another celebration, following Jovyn's birthday a few weeks ago. As there's still a tight, dine-in restriction, we had to improvise and hold the party at my elder sister's apartment instead, in order to accommodate the five unique visitors a day.
Sadly for Joyce though, this celebratory occasion was for her birthday! Which means she would likely take up the duty of cleaning up after we left although high chance her hubby would assist / have the duty delegated to him.
Here's the birthday girl, with the Fruits White Zebra Whole Cake from Chateraise, kindly sponsored by my younger sister. My sponsorship was dinner from Dian Xiao Er and Little Caesars Pizza, co-shared with Alex.
Mom usually wouldn't know what to get for us and her preferred present is a red packet which signifies good luck in our Chinese custom. Of course, there will be money inside, to allow us to buy whatever we want with the extra cash.
Joyce, with mini-Joyce. It's not that uncommon to have relatives commenting that Jovyn is a split image of her mom in her younger days.
With her two precious; Jerald is now taller than his mom (actually he towers over me too) and Jovyn is playing catch up given the age differences although her main wish is just to overshoot her mom's height!
The Ker family; sometimes it's good to have such birthday celebrations as I make it a point to take photographs of my family members. Imagine the reminiscences as we look back at the photographs in our elderly years.
Family portrait of the Teo family; it's rare to see me in photos as I am usually the photographer! Alex did a decent job this time, thanks to the iPhone Pro Max cameras.
Funny pose photo; this time with Alex!
'Make a wish' time after singing the birthday songs! In the past, we used to take videos as the kids loved them; well, they grew up. With both kids going to be young adults, I can only hope my sister would not have too hard a time, given we were quite a handful for our parents in our teens.
Happy Birthday, my dearest sister!
Hope all your wishes come true!
Cake had a sponge cake base, with crepes and layers of fresh cream in between, topped with fruits! Not very sweet which is good, but a bit too heavy for me.
