"It is a pub"
That's exactly my thought when i passed by this open concept chill-out place after my smooth smooth dessert at Selegie Soya Bean along Jalan Kayu.
As fate has it, the word "Breakfast" on the white-paper menu outside caught my corner-eye attention!
An update: in order to lose some weight, i have taken to having a bigger breakfast and hopefully no dinner at night.
Having more breakfast choice is, no matter what, a wise move. In addition, it's encouraging to know that "Passion for Food" is part of Urban Spoon's operational philosophy.
It's less than a week later i found myself seated comfortably in Urban Spoon on a sweltering hot Sunday morning and waiting (impatiently) for my breakfast!
An ice cold root beer was just the right drink for the weather and it's the first time i had a slice of lemon with root beer, which reminded me so much of Coco-Cola lime.
The Urban Breakfast
A breakfast set so common, i ever attempted cooking it myself (here). Only the grilled tomatoes were extraordinary and the toast can be more buttery.
You could have fried, scrambled or poached for the eggs but I didn't manage to grab any omelette! Mr Alex Chiu kindly told me it was quite good though. Asshole...
Likewise, there was an option on sausage, ham or bacon. As you can see, we chose sausage, which was pretty normal. Cheese sausage will be a better choice.
Weekend Indulgence Eggs Benedict
A long title that served to increase my expectation of this dish.
Hence, imagine my initial disappointment when this was served. Thanks to the deities, the taste was much better than its look!
The Hollandaise sauce enhanced the delicious runny yolk within the two poached eggs and 100% complemented the honey ham!
The menu stated 'hot buttered muffins' which i believed (maybe mistakenly) to be just plain bread!
