Pizza 4P's near Ben Thanh Market @ Ho Chi Minh City [Vietnam]

The original intent was to have Pizza 4P's at its branch near Ben Thanh Market but our spontaneity on day two in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) resulted in dinner at its Saigon Centre branch instead

That didn't mean we decided to forgo the planned intention; we were so so impressed with what we had; the decision was made to proceed accordingly after our half day trip to Cu Chi Tunnels! p.s. Kon didn't join as he has had Pizza 4P's too many times and would do with just one visit per trip.

Walking up to the upper levels.

Don't you love the rawness of the place? Concrete, unpainted ceiling, exposed beams, red-tiled walls. There appeared to be air-conditioning but it felt stuffy; thankfully for the provision of fans.

The above shows how close Ben Thanh Market was. Those who don't want to have their meals at the food stalls within the market can consider Pizza 4P's; just go out from the north entrance of the market.

Seating on the second floor. Strongly recommended if you prefer to see some action although the third floor, where we were seated, was more spacious and comfortable.

On second floor were two humongous, wood-fired ovens! I think it's incredible to see such traditional devices when most of us would have preferred electronic devices for consistency, convenience and ease of usage!

Get ready to have your pizzas made right in front of you, delivered to the oven and then freshly sent to your table! We didn't have that advantage since we were brought to the third floor.

I am starting my meal with a half pint draft Sapporo beer! Costing just 39,000 dong (about S$2 plus), an ice cold draft beer would always be welcome under a sunny day.

Mango Parma Ham
- I am not into ham as the cured meat can be overly salty. However, the mango was sweet enough to effectively balancing the saltiness. Perfect as a starter!

Baked Mashed Potato and Home-Made Raclette Cheese - well, not a mashed potato fan although I customarily took a bite; the non connoisseur in me just felt that it was strong cheese flavored mashed potato. I prefer the accompanying bread more.

Oven Baked German Potato - aside from not being a fan of mashed potatoes, I am also not big on potato as a whole, except for crispy french fries. Hence, this didn't appeal to me whereas my friends seemed to like it, a lot.

4 Cheese Pizza - of course we had to order the signature pizza, given how much we enjoyed it on day two. To be frank, the main reason why we were having Pizza 4P's for the second time on this trip was because of this.

This plain looking pizza didn't seem much of a visual appeal but it embodied what a truly good pizza was all about. I am not going to say much more as I had talked about it here

Fried Chicken - given my deep love for fried chicken, I knew it had to order when I saw it on the menu. When it was served to the table, I was shocked as this plate had three pieces of fried chicken and each one cost almost S$3.00! That's pathetically portioned.

Cutting them up revealed more; imagine paying almost S$9.00 for three drumettes! They were crispy alright but the meat was disappointingly bland. No way would I be ordering this again in the future!
