Chu Chocolate Bar & Cafe @ Bangkok in Thailand

Recommended by the Greatest Kon but with a full stomach; we were adamant that the consideration was only to have hot chocolate at Chu Chocolate Bar & Cafe!

Long passage in.

I was expecting a contemporary building but this looked more like your usual modern Thai bungalow with a side renovation just to have a signage and a main entrance.

Surroundings of the cafe; with the lights, it felt really pretty and I guess it helped that the cafe wasn't overly crowded, resulting in a much relaxed atmosphere.

With the uncomfortable risk of being bitten by mosquitoes, I would still prefer to sit indoors; first world problem. In addition, it's a given that Singaporeans prefer air-conditioning! Why bother getting all hot and sweaty while having a meal?!

Damn, the desserts were so mouthwatering!
And our initial intention was only hot chocolate!

Classic Hot Chocolate - with 35% milk chocolate and made from real melted French chocolate, Alex claimed this was the best hot chocolate he ever have! For me, I love its creamy milkiness that wasn't overly sweet! Would love to revisit in the future!

Hot Chocolate Cake - served in a cup, I almost thought Alex ordered another hot chocolate for me when I had insisted on sharing the beverage with him! Turned out it was a cake, topped with marshmallows in a cup, that was microwaved before serving to customers.

With strings of liquid chocolate, this was insanely rich and addictive! This reminded me of a death by chocolate dessert I had when I was in my teens! Please note to sharing as it can get cloying after a while, and do remember to indulge before it turned cold.

Apple Cobbler
-  when it comes to desserts, one that I couldn't resist was apple crumble and this apple cobbler looked quite similar; hence, I decided to order even though my tummy was stuffed!

Vanilla ice cream was delish, the sweet, crumbly crumble was lovely and it complemented well with the sourish spiced apple compote, although not as memorable as the unforgettable one at Refuel II Cafe in Singapore

Only ingredient that should must be removed would be the buttermilk biscuit; pretty bland, salty and an absolute waste of calories, with no value-add to the rest of the ingredients. If the cafe operator happens to chance upon this post, please take away the biscuits and go back to the basics.
