Fish Feeding, Using Baby Milk Bottles @ Bang Nam Phueng Floating Market in Bangkok [Thailand]

Floating markets in Thailand are such crowd drawers that it's a breather to chance upon a space that had lesser people. From the look of these water tanks, I am assuming it was the activity quite popular in Singapore; prawning!

A closer look said otherwise though; there appeared to be brightly colored fishes in the water and customers appeared to be using their hands, instead of rods. And they seemed to be happier instead of sulking impatiently for the prawns to bite the bait.

Walking past the main counter confirmed my suspicion - they were selling fish feed. That, honestly, wouldn't have generated much interest as you can also buy some bread at Lumpini Park to feed the big fishes in the lakes and streams.

Unique thing was that the feed was in baby milk bottles! And they were priced at 20 baht per bottle, with a promotional of 50 baht for three bottles. That's a high profit margin given how little feed there were in each bottle!

Key advantage of using a milk bottle; you don't need to get your hands wet! And the fishes would treat you as if you are a celebrity and swarm around, the milk bottle.

Feeling was weird though; if you were to close your eyes, the motion of the milk bottle being sucked was almost similar to an infant drinking the milk to curb their hunger. Only difference was that the fishes don't vocalize, and the most you hear would be the sound of water splashes.

Such unique experiences thrill Alex, who is literally a boy at heart, despite his age! I personally don't quite enjoy such animal activity though as the horror background story is that the operator would have to starve the animals so that they would be compliant.

Well, I am a human full of contradictions, like many others.
