Fate is what brought us to this new establishment along Pasir Panjang road - our original plan was to dine at West Coast hawker centre further down the road.
And damn are we glad to follow our heart!
The interior decor replicates a typical Muslim-style coffee shop setting in Malaysia and what's best is the much-loved airconditioning that is so desirable in the scalding hot weather.
Four types of nasi lemak are listed on the menu and all three of us ordered the same one; crispy fried chicken nasi lemak. Nothing beats eating the most common dish in order to give the fairest review.
At S$5.00 a plate, i got a visually satisfying meal that consisted of fluffy coconut rice that wasn't too oily, chicken wing, fish cake, egg, fish fillet, fish, ikan bilis peanut and chilli sauce.
This piece of crispy chicken wing effectively brought me back to my primary school days; when i could easily finished off at least five delicious chicken wings from this particular Malay stall.
What's more incredible is this deep fried fish fillet - for something so common, its filling was surprisingly moist and tender! We could not get enough of this and would gladly exchange the pretty normal fish cake for it.
Coming to the always-been-contested chilli test; while fiery looking, it was actually not as fierce towards my taste buds. In fact, this was skewed more towards the sweet sambal version that i always enjoy.
Taste wise, it was no doubt as satisfying as its original look.

The pandan drinks are so worth it at S$2.50 a glass - you get free refill so long your total order is above S$6! I think i manage four refills within 45 minutes.
A take out counter is set up outside the restaurant and i guess that could be helpful (and good for business) especially at night during examination period when NUS students are desperately skipping their sleep to burn midnight oil.
For traditional kueh and biscuit lovers, a big variety is waiting for you behind the takeaway counter.
