Hougang 6 Miles Famous Muah Chee

The thought of skepticism immediately shot through my brain when Vanessa told the Gang of Four that there's a super nice muah chee in Hougang!

C'mon, it's muah chee (麻芝); a Chinese snack that does not require much preparation as far as i remember!

However, this particular one in Hougang is in a world of its own that is definitely deserving of the 'famous' tag in the shop's name.

Each lump of muah chee was painstakingly pulled out (you heard me right; it was not cut with scissors) from the big pot of cooked dough, dipped into a bowl of sesame oil that was mixed with fried shallots and finally thrown (literally) into the big pan filled with sugary crushed peanuts bits!

Result was a plate of deliciously soft, spongy muah chee individually wrapped with a layer of crushed peanuts!

The fragrance and taste of fried shallots were gently noticeable on each nugget!

One amazing aspect i must share with all of you was that the supposedly sticky muah chee doesn't stick to your teeth!
