In my recent trip to Bangkok, i met up with a Thai friend who rented an apartment at the pretty upscale Ashton Chula Silom and invited both Alex and I for a swim at the condominium's infinity pool.
Now, what i didn't expect was the breathtaking view ahead of us! I was thinking it would be a swimming pool at the lower level but the reality is above 30 floors!
That's how high we were; definitely a heart-in-the-mouth moment for those afraid of heights! For me, i think my acrophobia has improved over the years; there are still the uncontrollable trembles and shakes though.
Red arrow points at Samyan Mitrtown; a new shopping mall attached with office blocks, residences and the Triple Y Hotel where we stayed at for four short nights.
Pictures for your viewing pleasure; Bangkok was rather hazy when i was there in early January so the view could have been better! As the pool is so high up, the wind can be strong! Fret not about the "cold"; there's a warm Jacuzzi tub where we spent most of our time at.
Quiz time!
Guess what is the bright building in the center left of the photo?
It's IconSiam; Bangkok's most luxurious shopping mall. From Ashton Chula Silom, you can see Baiyoke Sky Hotel, King Power Mahanakhon, the Grand Palace and the mountains! Maybe i should take up my friend's offer to visit during the day where i can spot even more things; and at a more comfortable temperature.
