Signature Pork Chop Bun from the Macau Originated Tai Lei Loi Kei (澳门大利来记猪扒包) @ VivoCity [Singapore]

I have never felt compelled to visit Macau, the Las Vegas of Asia, but should i ever require a reason; it would definitely be the city's renowned pork chop bun as i totally dig the one i had from Macau Express six years ago!

Hence, when i read from a magazine on the recommendation for Tai Lei Loi Kei signature pork chop bun; i made a mental note to check it out (didn't help that i often have many such notes in my brain) and finally did so this evening.

No service charge and GST would be imposed and with this saving means that you have to place your order at the cashier counter, take the number, place it on your table and wait for food to be served!

Three Layers Ice Milk Tea - a beauty to behold although a vigorous stirring was required to homogenize the flavour which turned out to be intensively rich without being overly cloyingly sweet.

Signature Pork Chop Bun - it's been a while since i last had Macau style pork chop bun and was in fact looking forward to sinking my tea-stained teeth into it!

I am glad i added an extra egg as there was literally nothing inside the bun aside from the pork chop! To be honest, i was expecting a fried sunny-up egg instead of an omelette.

Bun was the short-form French loaf that was toasted crisp and warm with just a thin layer of butter in the inner layers; to be frank, nothing fascinating. Let's take a look at that slab of pork chop instead.

It was juicy alright although it failed to impress me; the meat was too bland and i had to rely on the pack of chilli sauce to enhance the taste! Now i feel really motivate to travel to Macau so that i can truly try the REAL pork chop bun!
