Wing Kee Chicken Chop Hor Fun (榮記鸡扒河粉) @ Changi Village Hawker Centre (荣记)

Changi Village Hawker Centre is reputable for its many stalls touting Changi Village Nasi Lemak as the original stall and even for me, Nasi Lemak is the first thing i tried at this food centre more than ten years ago.

Honestly, the nasi lemak didn't make too much of an impression on me but another item did; Chicken Chop Horfun.

Two factors enticed me to order it then; the delicious looking chicken chops prominently displayed above the cooking area and the "best award" title tagged for the dish.

This is what you get. I know it doesn't look especially appealing.

Let's turn it another way for a more objective view even though the special dark thick sauce played a damn important role in making me repeatedly return to this faraway hawker centre back in the days when i could not drive.

Give it a good mix so that each strand of hor fun is sufficiently covered with the refreshing gooey sweet-savoury gravy. The mixing is also necessary for a smooth, minimal effort delivery down your throat!

The deep fried chicken chop (thought it should be called cutlet instead of chop) can hold its own against the many other western stalls; the perfect combi of marination, bite and condiment.

Yummy!

Definitely another classic example of licking the whole plate clean!

    Hi

Any idea where has this stall moved to since the hawker centre is undergoing renovations now?

    Thanks.

  2. Hi,

I have no idea but in usual circumstances, you have to either wait till the renovation is completed or bear the bad news that the owner might take the opportunity to close shop should there be no temporary market set up.

Good luck for all of us!
