Relax Corner @ Lower Seletar Reservoir (Near Yishun Dam)

Many people may not know the existence of this corner unless they are frequent patrons of Yishun Dam (also known as Seletar Dam).

Just in case you are wondering, this is not the newly revamped reservoir park further downstream, near to Yishun Stadium.

Nonetheless, this is also a newly developed park at a comfortable length of just a few hundred meters. Good for a leisurely walk one fine afternoon after my lonely visit to Old Birdcage Walk.

Solar powered street lights lined the jogging track in the absence of any big trees in the vicinity.

Willow-like plants dotted the area and it was so relaxing to see them dancing to the wind. Nature can really help to alleviate unwanted stress.

The view of the reservoir at the start of the track. Left side is the relax corner while the right side is the place fondly known as Seletar Dam.

Unlike warning signs that used to be so unfriendly, many government agencies (like P.U.B in this case) have now incorporated little snippets of useful information to make the signs more interesting.

Pockets of plants dotting the area. Don't ask me what they are but i feel that they give a relatively zen feeling that is simple yet nice. The gentle wind then did help in creating that peaceful Zen-ness.

Natural looking river bank that can be very slippery!!

Not to worry, a life buoy is on hand to rescue any clumsy individuals! Always remember that drowning can happen in any water catchment areas.

End of the track that has a sheltered bench overlooking the reservoir.

A great place to take it easy and take in the view of the beautiful setting sun!

Pumping station for Yishun Dam; the place where the Gang of Four used to have BBQ every now and then. Another session must be organised soon! I miss the barbequed squid!!

The arduous way back. =(

This seemingly endless stretch may look dull and boring at the moment.

With the approaching spring, i bet the blossoms would be damn magnificent in time to come! Motorists driving along Seletar Club road should keep a lookout! Do drive carefully though.

Cluster of pink eggs on the rock by the bank.

There are a lot of such clusters in the area. Any expert has any idea on what they are? Offspring of frogs?

A cement bridge.

It cuts across a drain so small; plants are simply planted to give the false impression that it is big.

The best joke is when i found out that the drain has a closed ended start! Waste of public funds!?!? Guess heavy rain is the only way to create some activity in the drain.

New signboard displayed in many locations in Yishun Dam! The recently revitalised kite (layang) flying is not allowed here due to its close proximity to Seletar airport. And no playing of model aircrafts as well!

My shadow against the setting sun. I can be tall if i really want to!!!

    Hi,

Idk if you've got any answer for the pink eggs.. but they're actually eggs of Apple Snails - snails that eat up aquatic plants and are really invasive!
