Itacho Sushi (板長壽司) @ Ion Orchard [Singapore]

Me: So where are you meeting Amanda?
KM: Itacho Sushi!
Me: What's that?
KM: You don't know?!?!?!?!?

The conversation summed it all; i was totally ignorant about this brand of sushi restaurant that has taken Singapore by storm with its pricing and was very much touted as an alternative for Sakae Sushi.

Hence, when Joyce suggested meeting up for lunch one afternoon, i immediately thought of Itacho. For me, nothing is true until i have tried it personally.

Before i start with food, could i rant for a few seconds?

Ordering using these colour forms was such a pain in the ass!!! Eventually, i resorted to order directly from the waitress. Given the long wait to enter the restaurant, i would not want to waste any more precious time pondering which form to fill up.

Roasted Egg with Shrimp
Despite the addition of shrimps, these pieces of sweetened egg were plain normal.

Eel Mini Rice
I love this! The whole package was an art of delicious saccharine perfection and confirmed the following proverb: "good things come in small packages".

My only complaint? The serving was way too little and barely sufficient to last beyond three mouthfuls!

Fuyu Sashimi Set
With yellow tail, salmon, swordfish, squid, scallop, salmon roes and super jumbo red shrimp, this has to be the most luxurious sashimi i ever have in my life (my usual sashimi orders rarely go beyond the fishes).

And they were worth every penny; their fresh sweetness remained fresh in my mouth (and mind) for the rest of the day and this is definitely something i would be back for!

Salmon with Soy Sauce
Itacho is famous for their S$0.40 sushi. You heard it right - 40 cents for a piece of seafood sushi is unheard of in any Japanese restaurant in Singapore.

This cheap offer is limited (while stock last) although you could have your pick of other discounted items like roasted scallop with spicy salmon.

How did they turn out?
Simply good.

Howdy just wanted to give you a quick heads up.
The text in your content seem to be running off the
screen in Safari. I'm not sure if this is a formatting issue or something to do with browser compatibility but I thought I'd post to let you know. The design and style look great though! Hope you get the problem solved soon. Kudos
Take a look at my web page :: how to make sushi

Was this lunch or appetizers? Seems too little for 3 pax. (3 guests on bill).

    1. It was lunch; contrary to popular belief, my family consists of mainly small eaters. :)
